Berlin - ''Tinghir-Jerusalem: Mellah echoes'' by Kamal Hachkar was screened on Sunday in Berlin, at the opening of the Moroccan Judaism movie week, held on May 8-12 in the German capital.
The movie, presented at the Judaism Museum in Berlin as part of this event, traces the journey of Moroccan Jews who left Tinghir (southern Morocco) and immigrated to Israel. It sheds light on the lives of the Jews in this city through testimonies collected by the director from aged people in Tinghir who recalled the climate of understanding and coexistence that marked their relations with Moroccan Jews.
''Tinghir-Jerusalem" also presents testimonies of Moroccan Jews in which they tell their life in this city and their nostalgia for its inhabitants, reiterating their attachment to their Moroccan origin, traditions and customs.
