Morocco Takes Part in Rome in First Italy-Africa Conference

Rome - A Moroccan delegation led by Morocco's permanent representative to the UN in New York, Ambassador Omar Hilale, is representing Morocco in the first Italy-Africa conference, which opened on Wednesday in Rome, in the presence of Italian President Sergio Mattarella.

The Moroccan delegation is composed of director for African Affairs at the foreign ministry Mohamed Sbihi, head of the regional cooperation department at the same ministry Mohammed Farahat, and Morocco's ambassador to Italy Hassan Abouyoub.

Organized at the initiative of the Italian foreign ministry, the meeting is intended to lay the bases for a strategic partnership between Italy and the African continent in various sectors, mainly the economic sector.

The agenda includes issues related to sustainable development, the fight against terrorism and illegal immigration.

The event brings together over 45 African ministers, African permanent representatives to the United Nations, and officials from 15 regional and international organizations.
