Rabat - The culprits behind a false ‘bomb threat’ at Morocco Mall in Casablanca have been arrested by police.
According to police, the two restaurant employees part of the shopping complex triggered the false alarm which ended in the entire mall being evacuated on November 23. They were later apprehended the same day.
As people panicked, heading for the exits, many believed it to be a bomb threat that set off the alarm.
According to Ihata, who first published the information, the shopping center had “been emptied of its customers after fears terrorist threats."
Morocco Mall officials had asked employees and customers "to evacuate because of an unspecified threat", but after checking, it turned out that this is a "false alarm" according the source said.
Both individuals were assigned to the Anfa judicial police for the investigation.
