The Group announced that it had sold about 6,933 vehicles in December, the largest number in the history of the company in Morocco.

The company said in a statement that it has acquired 38.2 per cent of the national market share, in terms of personal and commercial cars.

Dacia remains the favorite of Moroccans.

The brand, which celebrated its 10 year anniversary in Morocco in May, is the leader of the national car market with a 29.2% market share as of December.

Dokker, Sandero and Duster ranked second, third and fourth with (8,521), (6,355) and (6,009) vehicles, respectively.

After the government decided to launch its renewal program for grand taxis as part of measures aimed at developing taxi transport services, Dacia, the first brand to have launched jointly with the government a project dedicated to large taxis, boosted its sales of the Lodgy, which brings the model into the top 10, ranking in 9th place with 3,634 units sold.

Renault Clio 4 came 7th with 4,696 units sold, followed by Kangoo, a car designed for commercial use, in 8th position with 4,326 vehicles sold.

Renault has increased the number of vehicles produced as well as its sales every year in Morocco since 2012.

In 2015, Renault Morocco Group was able to sell a total of 50 394 vehicles, including sales of the Renault brand, which totaled 13,002 in the categories of light and commercial vehicles, an increase of 13.3 per cent compared to 2014.

Last October, the Renault factory in Tangier announced it had produced 250,000 vehicles in 2015, an increase of 43 percent compared to 2014.

In 2014, the Tangier plant, the spearhead of Renault’s industrial system in Morocco, had manufactured more than 174,000 vehicles, showing significant growth compared to 2013.
