Rabat - CNN released a video on Monday showing two Paris attackers, brothers Salah and Brahim Abdeslam, partying in a club in Brussels eight months before participating in terrorist bombings and shootings that killed 130 civilians in the French capital.
The video, obtained by CNN, shows the pair drinking, smoking, and dancing with girls on February 8th, 2015. The clip was taken by friends who said they both were “nice people” who “lived life to the fullest.”
In the short clip, the Abdeslam brothers seem to be enjoying the Westernized lifestyle the so-called “Islamic State” claims to despise.
On November 13th of last year, Brahim blew himself up outside a cafe in Paris, whereas Salah - thought to have played a role in organizing the logistics of the attacks - remained a fugitive for four months before Belgian authorities caught him near his home days before the Brussels attacks.
Salah’s lawyer has said his client did not know of plans to bomb Brussels. The coordinated attack killed 31 people in an airport and a subway station in the Belgian capital last week.
Brahim and Salah also sold a bar they had owned and managed just six weeks before committing the attacks, according to a report by The World Post. Local authorities in Molenbeek - the Brussels neighborhood home to the Abdeslam brothers and a significant Muslim community - had ordered the two to shut down the Les Beguines bar because the police had found young men dealing and smoking drugs on the premises during the summer.
The pair’s journey from being barkeepers to becoming terrorists remains a mystery, according to the report.?
