Rabat - A Moroccan movie won three awards at the inaugural Brussels International Film Festival (FIFB), which has recently concluded in the Belgian capital.
The film, ‘The Blind Orchestra’ directed by Mohamed Mouftakir was awarded best director and two best actor awards, going to Younes Megri and Ilyas El Jihani.
Set during the reign of Hassan II the a true story is told through the eyes of a violinist’s son (Ilyas El Jihani) whose father (Younès Megri) poses as a blind man in an orchestra.
The movie was in competition alongside the Iranian film Today; Algerian The Pit; Japanese The pearls of the stone man and the Philippine feature film Bambanti.
Originally scheduled for November 17 to 21, the festival had to end early due to the increased terrorist threat in the Belgian capital.
