Rabat - Moroccan super heavyweight kickboxer champion Badr Hari mourns the death of his beloved sister.

Hari announced his sister’s death via his Instagram account @badrhariofficial on Tuesday morning.

“Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return. My dearest and most beautiful sister has returned to Allah, may Allah forgive her and grant her the highest Paradise, Jennat Al Firdaus,” the Moroccan champion wrote in English and Arabic.

In less than six hours, the touching post has received over 14,500 likes and more than 1,300 comments of support and condolences for Hari and his family on Instagram.

The announcement was also made on the kickboxer’s Facebook account where it has garnered nearly 24,000 likes and over 5,500 comments from his fans all over the world.

“Peace be upon you brother Badr. May God have mercy on your sister. To God we will return to him all the same after death. God rest her soul, her spacious graces. May God give you, your mother and father patience. Be satisfied that God let her enter heaven where his children are with Him. Amen,” a fan of Hari commented on Facebook.

No further personal information on her passing or the cause of death was revealed by Morocco’s ‘Golden Boy’.

However, according to the Dutch press, Hari’s sister succumbed following a prolonged illness, which remains unknown.

A few months ago while his trial was due to be held in the Netherlands, his lawyers requested its postponement for personal reasons cited by the Moroccan champion.

The 31-year-old athlete who lives in the Netherlands and holds dual citizenship – Moroccan-Dutch – was born in Kenitra, in northern Morocco.
