Madrid - Tourism Minister, Lahcen Haddad, said on Wednesday in Madrid, that Morocco aims to attract more Spanish tourists.
For geographical, cultural and historical reasons, Spain is one of the most important markets for Moroccan tourism, Haddad said according to Maghreb Arab Press (MAP) on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 36th International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR 2016).
He said that Morocco's communication strategy seeks to promote Morocco as a tourist destination among Spanish tourism operators, explore opportunities to launch an air route between Bilbao and Moroccan cities and reinforce existing routes, especially in the north of the country.
The minister hailed the excellent cooperation between Morocco and Spain in tourism.
A large delegation of Moroccan tourism operators, headed by Lahcen Haddad, is participating in FITUR 2016.
FITUR is a global meeting point for tourism professionals and the leading trade fair for inbound and outbound Ibero American markets.
